K-12 Update- March 12, 2020

March 12, 2020

Good Afternoon Canton Harbor Parents, Guardians, and Students:
As per the press conference held by Governor Mike DeWine today, March 12, 2020 at approximately 2:50p the announcement was made to begin a mandatory closure of all K-12 schools for a minimum duration of three (3) weeks. The mandatory closure for Canton Harbor will begin on Monday, March 16, 2020 and last through Friday, April 3, 2020. This means that SCHOOL IS IN SESSION TOMORROW, FRIDAY, MARCH 13, 2020 AS REGULARLY SCHEDULED. Throughout the duration of the mandatory closure, Governor DeWine and the State Health Department will provide updates as necessary. Under the current mandatory closure guidelines, students should prepare to return to school on Monday, April 6, 2020.
To help continue the educational process, teachers have prepared work folders for each student. Folders contain current classwork, End-of-Course test preparation, and missing work. Students will also have a copy of their 1st-3rd quarter progress report that also identifies missing work. Teachers have been instructed to post missing assignments on Google Classroom for students to access as well. Students will receive their folder TOMORROW, FRIDAY, MARCH 13, 2020 during homeroom (11:55a). Students that have been absent recently, or are absent on Friday, March 13, should make arrangements to come pick up their work folder on MONDAY, MARCH 16, 2020 between the hours of 9a-12p.
We feel that we have prepared the best we can during this time of uncertainty. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work together to make this the best possible situation we can.
